Article: Dell Computer, Using E-commerce To Support the Virtual Company

Dell Computer has been touted by itself and others as a quintessential Internet company.  The 

Internet has given Dell a means for extending the reach and scope of its direct sales business 

model at a relatively low marginal cost.  It has done so in part by automating functions such as 

product configuration, order entry, and technical support, enabling the company to grow 

revenues without a corresponding increase in customer service costs.  Also, it has used the 

Internet to coordinate a network of suppliers and business partners who carry out many of the 

processes involved in building, distributing and supporting personal computers.   Dell refers to 

this network of partners as a “virtual company” linked electronically by the Internet.  Another 

name for this type of industrial organization is the value web (Kraemer and Dedrick, 2000). 

In early 2000, Dell began to redefine itself as the company that “knows how E works.”  

Capitalizing on its reputation as an e-commerce pioneer, Dell has offered to share that expertise 

with its customers as they develop their own e-commerce capabilities.  Dell is using the virtual 

company approach to expand the scope of its business without a commensurate expansion of its 

own work force and without making a major acquisition.  It is doing so by developing a network 

of software and services companies that offer technologies and skills that Dell lacks in its 

existing value web.  However, Dell remains focused on the fact that it is still a hardware 

company.  Its e-commerce efforts are aimed at improving its own efficiency, enhancing 

customer satisfaction, and reaching new product markets, rather than transforming itself into a 

services provider as its competitors such as IBM, Compaq, and Hewlett-Packard are becoming. 

A close analysis of Dell’s use of the Internet and electronic commerce illustrates the strategic 

and organizational challenges that face any company that is serious about embracing the 

Internet and trying to tap its potential.  It also offers insights into a new form of business

Now let us talk about UiTM. UiTM is Malaysia's largest institution of higher learning in terms of size and population. The university has expanded nationwide with 12 branch campuses, 3 satellite campuses, 9 city campuses and 21 affiliated colleges. The university offers more than 300 academic programmes in a conducive and vibrant environment. It is also home to some 172,000 students. I am currently studying at UiTM Malacca City Campus, or well known as UiTM KBM. Just like it’s name, it is located right in the heart of Malacca. 

UiTM Malacca City Campus was launched on March 26, 2007 by the Honorable Malacca Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hj Mohd Ali Mohd Rustam. UiTM Malacca City Campus, located at Jalan Hang Tuah, Malacca has been operational with the preparation of management at December 15, 2006 and led by 11 administrative staff. While academic activities began on January 3, 2007. Until June 2011, UiTM Malacca City Campus now has a number of non-academic staff of 119 people and the academic staff of 188 people.

Management of UiTM Malacca City Campus is under the management of the Rector UiTM Malacca, Datuk Prof. Prof Dr. Mizan Hj. Black and assisted by the Deputy Rector of Malacca City Campus Assoc Prof Mohd Zainud-din Hassan. Malacca City Campus includes building 16 floors and is equipped with lecture rooms, computer laboratories, administration offices, Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Treasurer, Safety Unit, and Facilities Management and Development Division, as well as a resource center, room meeting, the auditorium, prayer room, cafeteria and student center. In 2009 the UiTM Malacca City Campus had rented two-storey building Melaka Water Company Limited which is next to the Malacca City Campus building.

For accommodations for students, UiTM Malacca City Campus has been providing residential facilities of two residential colleges, College of Tun Mutahir for female students and College of Tun Mamat for male students. These accommodation are given for first semester students only. So after you reach secon semester, you will need to find other accommodation. Residential college at the College of Tun Mamat can accommodate about 200 students and student residential college at the College of Tun Mutahir can accommodate a total of 500 students. Both these colleges are located in Kg. Morten and take a 10 minute walk to the UiTM Malacca City Campus. In 2011, UiTM Malacca City Campus in collaboration with the Melaka State Government is expected to hire two student accommodation blocks which can accommodate a total of 2000 students. Currently, there is already one block of the Apartment Yayasan Melaka that is already being accommodated by students.

For me,study in uitm it is a right choice that i makes,and i promise to myself,study hard and smart and be usefull person.and lastly,peace guys!!!

Facebook are investigating reports that some pornographic and violent images are being posted on users' newsfeeds.

The material is thought to have been spread widely in the last 24 hours via a 'linkspam' virus when users click on a seemingly innocuous story link.

Thousands of users have complained via Twitter of the security breach which is allowing photoshopped porn images and, in some cases, pictures of the violent mutilation of animals and people.

No one has yet claimed responsibilty for the breach, although several people have linked the attack to hacking activist group Anonymous after a video appeared on YouTube threatening to "kill" the social network.

However, experts have questioned whether the video was authentic.

A spokeswoman for Facebook said: "[We are] aware of these reports and we are investigating the issue".for more details click here

Now time to talk about myself,my name is Nurul Izati Bt Md Jalil.Actually nothing interested about me.but i love to share my hobby to everyone,something weird but nice,hihihihihi.honestly i love to wash & clean my toilet everyday or in Malay we call JAMBAN

For me,when i clean my toilet,i can release my tension.Don't believe it,just believe OK!!!i love to describe someone with how their manage their personal cleanliness,and the one of criteria is i love to see their toilet.

In my opinions,even the person is handsome or beautiful,but their toilet is dirty,so they are dirty,admit that OK!!i hate this type of person.

Now we talk about my Family,actually i have 7 siblings and i is number 5.but sorry I can't to put all the picture in my video,because some picture of my family is missing in my storage.so sad.i love my family so much,because they are always support me and always care and motivate myself.if you guys wants to see how looks my family,just watch the video that i prepared to you guys.

actually i don't like to go to school,do you know why????because when i in primary school,my friends love to   bully me.but when i am become a prefect in my primary school,my friends more respect to me because i have a authority to bring a problem student to face a dicipline teacher.so scared right??so after that,i love to go to school.

After that i continued my study at sekolah menengah kebangsaan palong 7,this school was famous in negeri sembilan because of their marching,they always become a champion in this marching's competition.i am so proud with my school.In this school i am still a prefect,so incredible right!!actually,when i become a prefect i had a lot of advantage.firstly,i more closely to my teacher,then i become one of the important student in my school and lastly i can speech in assembly,so proud with myself,hihihihi.

when i got PMR result i continued my study at sekolah menengah teknik muadzam shah.it is also interesting school,because all of the clases have CCTV,so my dicipline'teacher can just watch the student attitude from the CCTV,SO SCARE!!but i am good student there,because my dicipline'teacher always call my name to face him,honestly i am a trouble student,but i also a excelent student,because when SPM result announced,i can continued my study at malacca matriculation college.and lastly now I take degree in business administration at uitm bandaraya melaka.i love to study until my last breath.
